You Can Be Healed

God’s word will always work! It is living, alive, active and powerful.

Isaiah 55:11 NASBS [11] So will My word be which goes forth from My mouth; It will not return to Me empty, Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.

Hebrews 4:12 NASBS [12] For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.

What is Faith?

Hebrews 11:1,6 NASBS [1] Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. [6] And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Power + Faith = Healing (Proverbs 4:20-22 God’s Word is Medicine for Your Body)

Since God is present everywhere, His power is also available to us all the time. Consider electricity, it is present on the electrical wires all the time but it does not turn on the bulb. You need to turn on the switch for the bulb to light up. Faith is the switch to turn on the power of God for the healing to manifest!

Healing in the Old Testament

Exodus 15:26 NASBS [26] And He said, "If you will give earnest heed to the voice of the LORD your God, and do what is right in His sight, and give ear to His commandments, and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have put on the Egyptians; for I, the LORD, am your healer."

Psalm 103:1-5 NASBS [1] Bless the LORD, O my soul, And all that is within me, bless His holy name. [2] Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget none of His benefits; [3] Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; [4] Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; [5] Who satisfies your years with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Psalm 118:17 NASBS [17] I will not die, but live, And tell of the works of the LORD.

Psalm 107:20 NASBS [20] He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Isaiah 53:4-5 NASBS [4] Surely our griefs He Himself bore, And our sorrows He carried; Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken, Smitten of God, and afflicted. [5] But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.

Healing in the New Testament

We have a better covenant.

Hebrews 8:6 NASBS [6] But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises.

Hebrews 7:22 NASBS [22] so much the more also Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.

Hebrews 12:24 NASBS [24] and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better than the blood of Abel.

Is it Gods will for you to be healed?

Mark 1:40-42 NASBS [40] And a leper came to Jesus, beseeching Him and falling on his knees before Him, and saying, "If You are willing, You can make me clean." [41] Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, "I am willing; be cleansed." [42] Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cleansed.

Acts 10:38 NASBS [38] You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Fulfillment of Isaiah 53:4

Matthew 8:17 NASBS [17] This was to fulfill what was spoken through Isaiah the prophet: "He HIMSELF TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES AND CARRIED AWAY OUR DISEASES."

Fulfillment of Isaiah 53:5

1 Peter 2:24 NASBS [24] and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.
